TP Mazembe reach FIFA Club World Cup Final TP Mazembe have made history by becoming the first African club to reach a FIFA Club World Cup final. The African champions beat the champions SC Internacional of Brazil 2-0 Tuesday in Abu Dhabi.

Mulota Kabangu opened the score with a perfect strike at 53′ minutes and Kaliyutuka Dioka extended the mark with five minutes of regular time remaining.

The Congolese side will meet the winner of the other semi-final between European champions AC Milan and Asian champions.

TP Mazembe have achieved this feat despite losing defender Stoppila Sunzu in their win against Concacaf champions Pachuca of Mexico in the quarter-final, and winning the Africa Champions League after losing two of their best players — star striker Tresor Mputu and Lusadisu — to FIFA bans.
